Mission: |
|
To
digitally capture Delmarva traditions for the purpose of
preserving, protecting and promoting the region’s rich social,
cultural and historical legacy.
This ongoing project will create viewable products for public
broadcast through Public Access television, the internet, and
future technologies. The project will also create an archive of
digitally recorded material, before Delmarva traditions are
forgotten.
|
| |
|
|
Project
Manager: |
|
The
project will be managed by an undergraduate or graduate student
affiliated with the History Department at Salisbury University,
or by someone with knowledge of Delmarva traditions and
videography. |
| |
|
|
Advisory
Committee: |
|
An
advisory committee will work with the project manager to
establish criteria for selecting traditions in need of digital
capture, prioritize subjects, interface with the public, and
develop sustainable funding for the project. |
| |
|
|
|
Subjects: |
|
Subjects
include Delmarva residents with unique historical perspectives
on regional traditions and history, heritage sites, historical
structures, and cultural activities with historical value. Every
effort will be made to include the traditions of underserved
communities. |
| |
|
|
|
Funding: |
|
Funding
for the project will be sought from Delmarva heritage partners
and State agencies. Funding will be held and dispersed through
the Salisbury University Foundation. |
